Image processing on bare-metal systems

Image processing on bare-metal microcontroller systems is particularly challenging due to the reduced performance. For some applications, however, it is not possible to use a mini PC, embedded Linux, etc. Find out which solutions we have implemented in practice.

Image processing with limited computing power

We develop image analysis systems with the highest efficiency on resource-limited microcontrollers. Our expertise lies in the creation and optimization of image processing algorithms on bare-metal systems to maximize the battery life of mobile devices.

By using energy-efficient microcontrollers instead of CPUs, complex image processing steps such as noise filtering, histogram-based contrast adjustment and graphic overlays usually have to be implemented manually. This requires special know-how and experience. Available graphics software libraries cannot usually be used on bare-metal systems due to their lower performance.

Thanks to our many years of experience, we can fully implement the system design, camera control, integration of specialized filter elements and hardware-related software implementation. This reduces product costs, as microcontroller systems are significantly cheaper than CPU-based systems.
